This study investigates the effect of adding 0.12 and 0.25 wt% vanadium to a delta-TRIP steel. Optical microscopy, SEM, hardness measurements, tensile testing, and X-ray diffraction analysis were used. The steel’s structure consisted of delta-ferrite, allotriomorphic ferrite, martensite, and pearlite. The addition of 0.12 wt% vanadium enhanced the steel’s mechanical properties, achieving the best combination of strength and elongation percentage. The steel with 0.12 wt% vanadium is considered third-generation advanced high-strength steel.

This study aims to develop a novel hot-rolled WE43-B4Cp composite with improved tribological performance for employment in the automotive industry. The addition of 10% B4C significantly improved wear resistance, particularly at higher loads. The superior wear performance of the hot-rolled WE43-10%B4Cp composite was ascribed to improved hardness and strength, as well as increased work hardening capacity of subsurface due to the presence of hard and thermally stable B4C particles with uniform dispersion and proper bonding to the matrix.

This study aims to create a compact, anti-corrosion Zn-Ce LDH coating on AZ31 magnesium alloy using different molar ratios and pH values. The coatings were characterized using various techniques, including SEM, EDS, XRD, XPS, FT-IR, and PDP. The coating showed the lowest corrosion current density at a Zn/Ce ratio of 2 and a pH of 11.

This study explores the use of layered double hydroxides (LDH) with or without reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanosheets to improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys. The coatings were characterized using SEM, XRD, and electrochemical workstation. The results showed that GO sheet incorporation with Zn-Al LDH flakes significantly enhanced anti-corrosion properties and long-term degradation. The hydrothermal process reduced GO plates to rGO, improving hydrophilicity and surface free energy.

Welding processes are performed using a 600 W fiber laser instrument with heat inputs of 60, 80, and 100 J mm−1. δ-TRIP Steel samples had similar chemical compositions but different Niobium amounts. Increased heat input led to changes in microstructure and hardness properties, affecting welders’ ability to ensure safe joints in engineering structures. An increase in heat input reduced austenite content in weld metals, reducing hardness by 40% and 37% for 40Nb and 72Nb steels, respectively.

This study uses various techniques to characterize the structural and microstructural evolutions of AlCrNi alloy powders. The single-phase Cr nanostructured solid-solution was synthesized using high-energy planetary ball milling. The decagonal quasicrystal phase was found after 1035°C annealing. The thermal performance of the powders was examined using a differential thermal analyzer.

This paper presents a composite of Oxide/LDH coatings on the AZ31 substrate, incorporating Zn2+ and Ce3+/Ce4+ metal cations. The coatings were synthesized using a combined co-precipitation and hydrothermal processing method. The morphology, composition, and structure of the coatings were characterized using SEM, XRD, PDP, and EIS measurements. The composite coating effectively retards AZ31 corrosion.
